Peter Onyebuchi Ibeneme was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bancorp Finance Limited, a subsidiary of Capital Bancorp Group, in August 2023. Prior to this appointment, he served as Head, Business Development at Goodgate Finance Limited, a CBN-licensed finance company, from April 2023.

Peter has built an extensive career across the banking and financial services industry, holding several leadership roles including Head, Private Sector Sales at Grand Treasurers Limited (now Hallmark Finance Company Limited), Head, Credit at Atiat Leasing Limited, Team Lead, Finance Lease Administration at Aquila Leasing Limited, and Sales and Treasury Officer at KC Finance & Investment Limited. His professional experience across these institutions spans over two decades, from 2006 to 2023.

He brings over 20 years of cross-functional experience in credit risk management, financial planning and control, credit and marketing, finance and operating lease sales and administration, agriculture financing, transportation and project financing, and credit advisory services.

Peter commenced his professional career in 2006 with KC Finance & Investment Limited. Prior to joining Bancorp Finance Limited in 2023, he served as Head of Business Development at Goodgate Finance Company Limited, Head of Credit Sales and Marketing at Hallmark Finance Company Limited, Head of Credit Control and Compliance at Atiat Leasing Limited, and Team Lead, Finance Lease and Structured Finance Sales and Administration at Aquila Leasing Limited.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing Management from Lagos State University and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accountancy from the University of Benin.

Peter is a member of several professional bodies, including the Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), the Nigerian Institute of Credit Administration (MNICA), and is also a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Administration.

Outside work, Peter enjoys singing and travelling. He is happily married with children.
