Opeyemi Olayinka was appointed Head, Internal Audit and Control at Capital Bancorp Plc in September 2023.

He brings nearly a decade of experience in core areas of audit, assurance, and finance, primarily within the financial services sector. In his current role, he leads and oversees the Internal Audit and Internal Control functions across Capital Bancorp Plc and its subsidiaries, implementing risk-based audit plans aligned with organizational objectives.

He commenced his professional career with Nahman Construction Co. Ltd in January 2018, where he served as a Finance and Control Officer. Prior to joining Capital Bancorp Plc in 2023, he held multiple roles at CrusaderSterling Pensions Limited, including Internal Audit and Control Officer, Finance Officer, and ultimately Internal Audit Lead.

Opeyemi holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Investment from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He is a member of various professional bodies and an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is also a Designate Compliance Professional of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria and a Certified Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) accredited by the Corporate Finance Institute.

Outside work, Opeyemi enjoys music and exploring emerging ideas in technology.
