Biography
Dr. Babatunde Awobo Pearse joined the Board of Directors in December 2017, and is a seasoned professional in the Oil and Gas industry, having led various multi-functional teams managing large multimillion-dollar projects for over 30 years. Dr. Pearse is currently the Principal of Awobo Pearse Engineering Ltd., a firm providing Commercial, Development and Execution Consulting and Engineering services to the Energy, Utilities, Environmental and Infrastructure industries. Preceding this Dr. Pearse held various top positions in ExxonMobil, the largest Integrated Oil Company in the world. Positions such as the Development Planning General Manager, Executive Senior Project Manager Gas & Power, EM Development Executive Select Stage Manager, to name a few. He also spent an appreciable amount of time working for the company abroad, in locations as diverse as the USA, Indonesia and Kazakhstan. Prior to joining ExxonMobil Dr. Pearse spent a number of years in academia, lecturing and performing research in institutions such as the Department of Engineering Analysis, University of Lagos, and the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. He has multiple publications available in respected engineering journals. His professional affiliations include membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, and is also a registered Engineer (Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria).
Dr. Pearse possesses a B.Sc. in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Surrey, England, UK and a Ph.D. in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Birmingham, England, UK. He is a member of the Metropolitan Club of Lagos, the Lagos Dining Club, the Lagos Motor Boat Club and the Ikoyi 1938 Club of Lagos.
