The local bourse continued its downward trend, as the NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) declined by 1.12% to 243,967.09 points, market capitalisation declined by 1.11% to NGN157.44 trillion. The marginal divergence between the NGXASI (-1.12%) and market capitalisation (-1.11%) reflected the listing of 9.24 billion additional LASACO shares at NGN2.00 per share, which modestly cushioned the decline in market value.

Trading activity weakened considerably, as total volume traded declining by 62.78% to 1.46 billion units, while transaction value declined by 35.58% to NGN20.84 billion. The number of deals also decreased by 14.32% to 39,031 transactions.
